Anne,
I know I shouldn't jump ahead in the story before all the facts are known but.....
The possibility that Roderick and Ann's two older children More and Donald might have been born on C7L29 Lochiel and the younger ones on C7L24 East Hawkesbury would mesh with what Keith Dewar wrote in his  book about John Bane.
John Bane received the patent for the farm in 1828 and in the same year he sold half of it to his oldest son William. Roderick, the second son, appeared to have had a falling out with his father and left the farm (sometime after the winter of 1829 when his son Donald was born. Did he go to East Hawkesbury where Mary, Ann and William were born? [my note]). Upon the death of John Bane in 1844 the other half of the farm was inherited by the third son Angus and Roderick did not receive any land, but his brothers had to give him a gift of 50 pounds sterling, his share of the will.
So what will the new facts bring? Confirmation or more speculation?
Barry
