Hi there....

James Henry Maloney, Sr. was born 11/19/1866 in Bay Bulls. His wife was Ida Drew, and they had 8 children. My GGG GF was Joseph Mullowney, b 1829 d 1919, married Mary Crockwell. Patrick (your GG GF) and Joseph (my GGG GF) was brothers, I believe. They also had a brother Peter, and possible other siblings but there was little record keeping before 1830. According to mt notes, their father was Richard Mullowney, who was married to Mary Walsh. Apparently Richard was from Tipperary. Richard had a brother Samuel who married Anne Gatherall, and their children were Patrick, Margaret, John and Maryanne.

Apparently in the farmlands if southeast Limerick and Tipperary, in the confines of Hospital and Herbertstown, there lived only 3 families of Maloney's, who originated from Sixmilebridge area of Co. Clare. They were John 1775-1826, Thomas d 1858 (he was a famous horsebreeder) and Richard b about 1779. John m Mary Russell, and their children settled in Tipperary, NSW and Canada. They had a son Richard b 1809-1811 who married Johanna O'Neill. They lived in Knocklong Ireland before coming to either Holyrood or Bay Bulls. He was a tenant farmer at Kilrush estate. John's brother Thomas married Ellen McCarthy, and the last broterh Richard m Bridget Walsh in Limerick. They had a son Richard born 1816, and a son Daniel who emigrated to Lawrence MA in 1848, and other children as well......need to make the connection between that family in Ireland and ours here in Bay Bulls.....
