Many Wright ancestors have heard this story growing up. My own Mother would tuck me in and tell me a story when she was young. I especially liked hearing this story. When I first started making my family tree, I spoke to Dale Wright, mentioning this story. We both laughed, and he said he would like to know which Wright this was. This is for Dale Wright who inspired me, and my mother Geneva for all the wonderful stories, so it is with great pleasure that I share this with you.

Headline: Dereham, England; Mr. Wright,
The following whimsical robbery lately took place at Dereham, in England. The poultry house of Mr. Wright was broken open, and robbed of six geese; the robbers leaving behind them a six pence, tied to the gander's neck, in a piece of paper, containing the following lines:
I wish you good night
'Tis time for me to wander,
I've bought your geese,
At a penny a piece,
And left it with your gander.
