I came across a newspaper item about a man from Fort William having been killed in Canada in 1894.
I passed the report on to the local Family History Group but thought I would see if can find out any more about him.
This is the news item, I don't have access to any Canadian newspaper archive so I wonder if someone can see if can a more detailed report.

FORT-WILLIAM MAN KILLED IN BRITISH COLUMBIA.
— lnformation has just been received here of the death of man named Campbell, at the Mines, Nelson, British Columbia. It seems that deceased fell down one of the shafts, in which there was about eleven feet of water, and was drowned before help could rendered. Campbell was native of Fort-William.
