YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Private services were held on Wednesday at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home for Victoria Yakimovich, 97, who entered into rest Sunday at Austinwoods Nursing Home.


Victoria was born Sept. 1, 1912 in Desinic, Yugoslavia, the daughter of the late Frank and Cecilia (Miklinich) (Miklenic) Plevniak, coming to the United States in 1914.


She was a 1930 graduate of East High School, Youngstown, Ohio, and a charter member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church.


Victoria and her husband, Mack were owners of Mack’s Inn on Salt Springs Road.


Her husband, Mack (Zdravko) Yakimovich, whom she married on May 4, 1940, passed away on Sept. 20, 1971.


Victoria will be sadly missed by many, including her son, Val Yakimovich of Cortland, Ohio; her daughter, Virginia Myers of Youngstown, Ohio; a brother, George Plevniak of Austintown, Ohio; her sister, Katherine Debow of Colorado; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.


Besides her parents and husband, Victoria was preceded in death by a daughter, Catherine Yakimovich; a sister, Mildred Roper; and her brothers, Stephen, Michael, Joseph and Frank Plevniak.

BROTHER

Frank J. Plevniak, 87, of Rapid City, North Dakota passed away on Wed., Jan. 17, 2007 at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Frank was a Master Sergeant in the Army during WW2.

He is survived by his three siblings, Victoria Yakimovich of Austintown, Ohio, George Plevniak of Youngstown, Ohio, and Katherine DeBow of Franktown, Colorado.

Visitation will be at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City on Sunday from 4pm to 7pm, with a Christian Wake Service at 7pm, and then on Monday for one hour before services at the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Mon., Jan. 22, 2007 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City, North Dakota.
Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City with military honors by TREA.
