Forever is normal word. Catholic church may have lot of plans to return anything to Satu Maru archive as long as this something is in its possesion. State archives never passed anything to Catholics of Romania and they never will.

Ungvar and Munkacs under Satu Maru diocese. Records were written and kept in parishes of every city, village or few villages. There were not centralized storage. Theoretically, if they were phisically passed from local Catholic parishes to Satu Maru prior to 1945, they can be there. However such transmission doesn't look logically. It means local parishes lost all their databases.

Do you understand completely what local archive is? Local archive serves needs of local area and community. Every Catholic parish kept and held own archive which served needs of parishioners. Austro-Hungarian authorities used these databases as well because they didn’t keep records till very end of 19th century.

In 1910 Transcarpathia was part of Hungary and idea that local Ung megue authorities could endorse transmission of own Catholic databases to Romania is extremely strange. Probably you mean Romanian marauders could shift some books at times of 1918 occupation. But unlikely they needed this data in Satu Maru more than near at hand. The same is about Czech authorities.

If you'd publish some digital records from Ungvar or Munkacs, this'd help to clear the situation.
