HOWELL - Zoya Chmarenko, 83, of Howell Township died on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2008, at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township.
Mrs. Chmarenko was born in Volodimir Vilinsk, Ukraine, on January 1, 1925 and resided in Howell since 1958.
Zoya was a dedicated wife and a caring, affectionate and unselfish mother. She loved God, her family and Ukraine .
Mrs. Chmarenko was a member of St. George's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Yardville and the church's St. Olga's Sisterhood.
Predeceased by her husband, Eugene Chmarenko, she is survived by three children, Halina Baverov, Peter Chmarenko and Maria Snyder; grandsons, Victor and Nicholas Baverov and Daniel Chmarenko; great-grandchildren, Allison Marie and Nicholas Edward Baverov; and sisters and their families, Luba and Lena of Ukraine.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday (August 9) at St. George's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 839 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville, with the Rev. Petro Levko officiating. Friends may call at the church from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lakewood Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to St. George's Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
