Chrewt (Ukrainian: Хревть, Khrevt) is a village in the administrative district of gmina Czarna, within Bieszczady County, Subcarpathian Voivodeship, in SE Poland, close to the border with Ukraine. It lies approximately 16 miles west of Czarna, 9 miles south of Ustrzyki Dolne, and 56 miles SE of the regional capital Rzeszów.

The village has a population of 10.
In 1951 Chrewt = Хревть, located on border territory of SSR Ukraine and Communist Poland, was transferred from Soviet Union to Communist Poland's domain in a territory exchange. The Soviets in turn got a chunk of Lublin. It was actually all about oil. As a result of this agreement, appx 1,000 thousand Ukrainians were forcefully resettled to Central Southern Ukraine.

Many (descendants), originally from Khrevt, now live in villages Peresadivka=Пересадівка, Mykhajlo-Laryne=Михайло Ларине, Kalynivka=Калинівка > Жовтневий район/Zhovthnevyj raion/district > Миколаївська область / Mykolayivska oblast/region.

I would put together a simple letter inquiring fate of your relatives and address them to the three Village Mayors.

Someone in those three villages will know what happened to your families and where they are now.
Khonzhyk Families were Khrevt residents in the 18th century. There is documentation in Pzremysl Archives.
I always remain hopeful.
