Hello, Vera. I am glad that you have answered. What I know about the relatives that I wrote you about is based on the stories my father had collected talking to his distant relatives. Some of the facts may have been distorted because it is part of oral history, and no records have survived. However, there are too many matching facts (male Shcherbets, female Ivanidi, emigration, timing - 1920s). I think we should keep on digging. Do you know the name of Fyodor's father? Are there any photographs of your Dnipropetrovsk relatives taken before the Revolution in your possession (I've attached Fyodor Shcherbets photo)? Even the smallest details of our possible common (no matter how distant it may prove to be) family history are of great value. Do you speak any Russian or Ukrainian? Seasonal greetings from Ukraine!
