I am not related to Bis and Sroka, but I reviewed a lot [over 500] of Eliss Island manifests for immigrants from

vicinity of Pysznica including my grandparents. The statements about relations usually were correct.

Klara Bis married Franciszek Sroka probably in Pysznica and moved to husband village Zarzecze. In manifest

for Franciszek Sroka family dated Mar 20, 1910 [Last Place - Quaczyce/Zarzecze], Franciszek declared Polish ethnicity,

not Jewish. In present time, a few surnames Sroka are in the phone book for Zarzecze.

Surname Sroka [ = bird in Latin - Pica pica] is a popular Polish surname. Surname Bis is also Polish from old Polish

name Byslaw [= famous] and nickname Bys/Bis.

Census 1940 for Clara Sroka;
