You too can learn. I'm only about halfway there. I can pick out a few key words, and you should try to figure out where these are in the original. These entries are very formulaic, and once you get the pattern, you can pick up most of it.

Here's what I was able to figure out.

Book II, Page 9; Marriage date, 13 Feb 1899; house 488; the priest's name; groom, Listek, Franz, Catholic, age 25 years 4 months, born 1 Oct 1873. He is not apparently from Vitkovice, and looks like the son (sohn) of Aloisia Listek. He is single (ledig). The 28 single 2 widowed is a running total, I would guess, and balances with the bride entry of 29 and 1.

Bride, Kojesinsky, Bertha, who is from Vitkovice, daughter (tochter) of Maria Kojetinsky, who is the daughter of Josef Kojetinsky, (occupation) from Bielitz? Of course, the Czech name of that town will be something else. She is Catholic, age 25 years 5 months, born 24 Sep (presumably) 1873. She also is single.

So if you didn't know before, now you have the names of the mothers and one grandfather. If I am wrong about the names being mothers' names, I'm sure our more experienced posters will supply the correction.
