Brandon,

honestly, I think it is better for you to concentrate on the ideas given to you previously if you
hope to track down his town of origin. So a quick recap - please let us know what you have
searched or followed up on:

Did you contact either the Plymouth or Bremen public library and look for an obituary?
He died Jul 27, 1910. Were there any German newspapers in the area in 1910 and
did his obit appear there?

What religion was the family? Have you checked their church books? Check for his
burial record - check the children's baptismal records to see who served as baptismal sponsors.

Have you tried to find his naturalization record?

Have you tried obtaining his marriage license from Elkhart county? If so, does it give any clues
as to whether he was also married in the church or a justice of the peace? If married in the church, definitely obtain his church marriage record.

You get the idea.... There are lots of things that need to be researched first that will hopefully
provide clues and the evidence you need to corroborate any baptismal record you find in Germany or Switzerland. Have you ordered a copy of his will? Perhaps his siblings are mentioned therein or where they are living?

Let us know,

Bob
