Only one of my 4 great grandmothers did not come to the US. Her name was Maria Flek, and she married my great grandfather Ignac Kopřiva. I cannot find her death record.
She gave birth to my grandmother, Marie Kopřiva, in House #37, Dolní Loučky, 23 Oct 1882.http://actapublica.eu/matriky/brno/prohlizec/5374/?strana=58
Family lore says she died in childbirth when my grandmother was born. (If that was the case, who took care of the newborn?) She is not on the immigration record with my great grandfather and his two children 7 Jul 1887. (attached, line 148)
This means Maria passed sometime after my grandmother's birth and the arrival of her husband and children in the US. The records where it should be are in book 15522. Here's a typical link:http://actapublica.eu/matriky/brno/prohlizec/5397/?strana=56
The script is very legible, so I did not overlook her entry. We don't have any reason to think they moved from there. Ignac's sister is living in the house in 1892.http://actapublica.eu/matriky/brno/prohlizec/5374/?strana=84
However, in 1894 a different family is living in the house.http://actapublica.eu/matriky/brno/prohlizec/5374/?strana=91
Given the range of years -- 1882 to 1887 -- where might someone have died if it wasn't at home? I don't think hospitals existed in those days. I have also looked in the other 7 villages in that same book for the 5-year period from 1882 to 1887.
Any suggestions about how to find her would be greatly appreciated.
