JOHN BANKOSH, Sr., died at 4:00 p. m. yesterday of complications in his home at Mclntyre. Born Fepruary 7,' 1880. in Hungary, he was a son of Frank and "Mary (Gelles) Bankosh. He spent his early life in Hungary, flve years in Buffalo, N. Y., and 14 years at Lucernemines. He had lived at Mclntyre for the past 12 years. He was a member of St. Gertrude's Cntholic Church, the Mclntyre local of the U. M. W. of A. and the Workmen's Benefit Association. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Bertha Bankosh; two sons, John Bankosh, Slickville. and Frank Helvetia; two daughters, Mrs. William Vargo, Mclntyre, and Mrs. Joseph Hudack, Yatesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Fedor, Mclntyre, and Mrs. John King, Torrjngton, Conn,, and thirteen grandchildren.'

MRS. BERTHA BANKOSH, widow of John Bankosh, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 1955. Born in Hungary, she is aged 71 years and formerly lived in Mc- Intyre for many years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church of Cleveland. She is survived by two sons: John Bankosh of Slickville and Frank Bankosh of DuBois; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Hudak and Mrs. Catherine Vargo, both of Cleveland, Ohio. Friends will be received after 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 19, at Robinson's, 36 N. 7th street, Indiana, Pa. Requiem Mass, Saturday, August 20. at 10:00 a.m. (DST) in St. Bernards Church, Indiana, Pa. Fr. John Sieczkowski of Mclntyre, will be the Celebrant. Interment in St. Bernards cemetery.

Frank Bankosh, Sr., of DuBois, Rt) 8, was pronounced dead on arrival at DuBois Hospital last night at 8:15 p.'fti. Friends may call at the Paul A. Welton Funeral Home after 1 p.m. tonight. The Rosary will be recited at 8:80 p.m. Thursday. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church Friday at 10 a.Jn. by Rev. John DeSantis. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Bankosh was born to Hungary, Oct. 14,1904, son of John and Bertha (Burkis) Bankosh. He was married to the former Margaret Zuder to 1927 at Westland, Pa. He had resided in DuBois since 1946 and previous to that in Helvetia. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Pulaski and Olympic Clubs and the Sandy Hose Company. Survivors are his wife; a son, Frank E. Bankosh of DuBois; two grandchildren, Frank Bankosh and Mrs. Debra DeChurch of DuBois; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Hudak of Cleveland.
