Nicolaus Andreas Parelius was born about 1712 in Fosnes in Tröndelag, Norway, as a son of a local priest (Lutheran). At the probate of his father in 1722, Nicolaus Andreas was 10 years old.

His mother died in 1752, but because the court found out Nicolaus had converted to Catholisism he never received his inheritance from his mother, because it was against the law in Denmark-Norway to be a Catholic.

On July 27, 1756 his inheritance from his mother was divided between his heirs. He was then living in Vienna, Austria. In the probate record it is referred to a lot of correspondance between the local authorities and the Danish envoye in Vienna. (Baron Johan Friedrich Bachhof von Echt, "Dansk Envoye Extraordinaire udi Wien", and the secretary of the delegation Friedrich Christian Gallencamp.) Gallencamp had written a letter to Norway, signed in Vienna February 22, 1755, about Nicolaus.

Nicolaus (also written Nicolai) Andreas Parelius lived in Vienna as a Catholic in 1755-56. I have no knowledge of him after this. Is there anyone in Austria who can tell me what happened to Parelius in Vienna? Was he married? When did he die? What was his occupation? Does or did he have descendants (Nachkommen)?
