I am excited to find this thread. I have an entire family tree that goes back to Howell Griffith of Pembrokeshire, Wales. My tree then only shows EVAN GRIFFITH. First wife: unknown from Wales; Second
Wife, Sara Coffin in Wales; Third Wife,Mary James in Bucks, County. EVAN then begat ELIZABETH GRIFFITH (m. John Lewis); EDWARD GRIFFITH (died age 12); CATHARINE GRIFFITH (m. Theo Williams); JACOB GRIFFITH (m. Mary Matthew); NATHANIEL GRIFFITH (m. Elizabeth Davis, he died 1790, she in 1802 - this is my branch); JOHN GRIFFITH (m. Sarah James?, moved to Virginia); SARAH GRIFFITH (m. Thomas Bates who lived near Montgomery, N.H., His father came from Wales, Sara died 1811); Abraham Griffith (born 4/24/1783, died 1/1855 age 71 in Ohio. Buried in Quaker cemetry [sic] Carpenter by trade, politics: Whig, married M. Llewyllen (it gets blurry here) who died 1864 Waterford, OH); ISAAC GRIFFITH (m. Phoebe Morris, lived in Bucks County); and CAPT. HOWELL GRIFFITH (m. Elizabeth Rush, Age 99, Baptist, died 1824 with Rev. J. Matthews at funeral)

Does this help anyone? I have many of the next generation of this family but probably not all. Happy to share! Will try to scan and post several news articles of the Griffith family's early years in American (basically PA).

I also have a coat-of-arms and family crest that does not match any I have so far found on an internet search. The Coat-of-arms is described thus: Shield, argent - Lioncel, sable and Fleur-de-lis, gules. From what I can find all royal in symbiology.
