Regarding son Malcolm Ross. Is he the Malcolm Ross who settled on lot 8, English River concession, Huntingdon County, Quebec (seignory of Beauharnois) in 1821 (see Robert Sellar, History of the County of Huntingdon, p.465, 482). Listed Lower Canada census 1825 Huntingdon Ste Martine parish; 1852 Census 1852 St Jean Chrysostome Beauharnois age 71; 1871 census Sherrington, Napierville, Quebec age 90, died 22 April 1877 Grantham Tp, Lincoln Co Ontario age 97. Sellar says he came from Lochalsh, Inverness-shire. Possibly married a Barbara McRae who died in Quebec in 1870.
