I'm trying to figure out the connection between 5 or 6 Waddell families that came to Canada between 1840 -1851 and settled in Osgoode outside of Ottawa or also know as Bytown. Local little towns in area are Metcalfe and Russell.
My particular interest is in Alexander Waddell abt 1805 Ireland - 5 Feb 1878 Metcalfe , Ontario his wife Ruth Nancy Morrison 1804 Ireland - Sep 1881 Metcalfe.
Their daughter's tombstone indicates born in County Monaghan Ireland. Sarah Waddell 7 Apr 1834 County Monaghan, Ireland - 5 May 1873 Osgoode and she was married to Andrew Pitcairns Imlay 1831 - 1906.
Now according to the 1879 Atlas for Osgoode , Carleton, Ontario the following owned land
Alexander Waddell Sr 1805-1878 was on Lot 10 Con 8
Alexander Waddell Jr was on Lot 13 Con 7 (his son)
now the rest must be brothers, nephews, cousins or brother-in-laws
Thomas Waddell 1821-1893 married Mary Ann Dempsey lived Lot 12 con 7
son Nathaniel Waddell Lot 12 Con 8
John Waddell Lot 7 Con 6 not sure connection
William Waddell Lot 1 Con 8 not sure of connection
Robert Waddell Sr Lot 32 Con 5 not sure of connection
Robert Waddell Jr Lot 34 Con 6
John Hyland married Jane Waddell lot 7 Con 7 believed brother-in-law
Thomas McCooeye married Elizabeth Waddell
Robert Morrison Con 8 Lot 9 mother Jane Morrison born 1841 grandmother Esther Morrison born 1811 Ireland.
Hopefully others will be able to assist in solving the mystery of the connections.
