In the Kemmis history I have never seen the name Kimmis but as people moved ot different areas, their names were often changed, because of the local pronunciation of words.
My mothers family came from Shaen Castle, County Wicklow in Ireland. Her G G G G G Grandfather was born there, his father became Lord Camoeys at the begining of the nineteenth century.
The date of your G G G G G Grandfather's birth is about 20 years after the birth of mine, who was Henry Kemmis, younger brother of Arthur Kemmis.
I have read through your other emails associated with this name and saw that you are situated in Utah.
As this is the place where the Latterday Saints database on surnames is situated. If I was you I would contact them and search for the names you told me about, through their inquiry system. It is the biggest database of this kind in the world and I am sure would have the information you seek.
If you do no twant to do this, go to a large library in your area and look for Burkes Peerage and Landed Gentry, Extinct and Dormant, you will find most of the family antecedents there.
At the present time my family papers are packed away. In the future when I have unpacked them, I will look for the name you mentioned and maybe send another email to this list for you.
Bye for now.
