1798 Claims and Compensation:

Thomas Kelly, Esquire Maddenstown, Kildare
Claim for houses burned 476 Pounds 17 shilling and 1 pence
No paid amount shown
(That is a lot of money in those days, the houses may have been on his estate, his own home 'big house' maybe included which would indicate a estate house.

1824 Directory has the following:
Description of Kildare as a town 25 mi. s.w. of Dublin 10 mi.from Naas, 5 from Monastereven. His Majesty George the 4th visited the races there in 1821.

Under the heading of Gentry & Clergy:

Captn. Kelly, Kildare, Kildare

Lewis Kelly, Esq. Kildare, Kildare

Edward T. Kelly M.D. Maynooth 12 mi. w of Dublin 9 from Naas

Edward Fitzgerald O'Kelly, Surgeon and apothecary Kilcock and Maynooth

Bernard Kelly, apothecary listed under Professional persons

There are other Kelly' of course in any number of professions.

In Griffith Valuation of 1852 there are 625 Kelly's. I looked at the Thomas's did not find many with IN FEE - owned their own land and those that did was very little.
Same with Edward, many of both leasing from the Marquis of
Kildare. Note - look for towns mentioned eg: Maddenstown,
Monastereven as possibilities for the name Kelly. You would be looking for a Kelly with a lot of tenants.

Captns. were often given places on boards of Poor Law Unions, were magistrates or Justice of the Peace.

Index of Pregorative Willis 1635-1810 (1897)

Thomas Kelly, Esquire 1786

An index exists as the Wills were destroyed in the 1922
Four Courts Fire.

Registry of Deeds:(google - Ireland)

Thomas Robert Kelly, Gentleman Monasterven, Kildare
9 March 1814 'indented release'.(this is the year of the death of your Edward.

An indenture could be on property. I have seen an indenture from 1929 for Wexford with a list of all those living on the estate, which included the Town of
Enniscorthy and surrounds - hundreds of rental properties. Part of the requiement of getting ready for a sale of the Estate to show prospective buyers.

You can find books on the Co. of Kildare on Eneclann the genealogy division of Trinity College.

There is a not for profit, but fee paying website for a Heritage Foundation who provide a database for most of the Irish Counties. This will have birth records and marriage records .10E to look and 5E each record
You would need to contact me if you can't find by googling
as this website is considered commercial and as such is not
allowed on the message board
