No relation, but just incase the name Breen isn't picked up
on this message board KERRY you should also post to the CORK board.

There are large numbers of Breen's in the phone book for the surname Breen, try matching locations with the Poor Law Union or Civil Registration Town.

There were no Maurice Breen's in the Griffith Valuation for Cork in 1854. However, there are 20 listed in the
valuation in Co. Kerry in 9 Parish's. is a good resource for the Griffith Valuation

Directories are also occasionally an effective way of filling in some gaps. This is too late for you but does show the effort made to keep the name in the family.
