If he was born in Dublin City try: (free) click on church records

Also both South Dublin county and North Dublin county have
records on line with separate genealogy offices. They are
both members of an Irish History Foundation.

You should easily find Robert Wall there and his siblings
since you have both his parents names. If your are not sure of the correct parents names you can search just for Robert and his birth year. A birth record in Ireland comes with mother and father's names and mother's maiden name, parish/place and date. Once you have the correct ones you can find the siblings. This site has parish records that go well back as well as having 1864+ civil registrations and parish records. After 1864 if he had
siblings you can get copies of their birth certificates
from the General Registry Office in Dublin.

I have an 1871 UK Census which identifies Irish born person's.

There are several Robert's but no Robert Daniel Wall's.
He would of been about 9, but none in Marylebone/London?
23 James no James Denham Wall, Lancashire, Yorkshire, London - Surry, London-Middlesex, Middlesex.

Griffith Valuation of Dublin county 1854:

James Arthur Wall, St. Peter Parish, Baggot St. Lower (Fitzwilliam Market)Poor Law Union of Dublin South
tenant of Mrs. Gray

#28 house, outbuilding, yard and small garden

(I've stayed on Baggot St. I would call it downtown Dublin myself)

William Wall #6 Curch Lane - house and yard

James Wall, Parish Donnybrook, Townland Donnybrook East,
PLU Dublin South, tenant of John Madden Esq.

#57 James Wall & others, Church Lane, house and yard (1849)

There are separate (5) James Wall's for Dublin City,
St. Mary's Parish, Moor St. and St. Thomas, North Strand

Denham was a family of Nobility, and probably like most
well to do and aristocrats also had estates in Ireland.
Usually middle names are saving their mother's maiden names and passing them down.

Few people had middle names in that era so I put forward a
guess that James Arthur maybe your James Denham Wall's father and a Protestant!

Civil Registrations for Church of Ireland marriages 1845-1862, no records for a James Denham Wall nor wife
Maria Jeanna O'Brien. The last date being June 17, 1862.

Directories 1870 as this should fit close to 1862: Several lawyer/solicitors on Baggot St.and then YES!!

John Denham Wall, silk mercer, milliner and dressmaker, by
Appointment to Her Excellency the Countess Spencer #48&49 Lower Sackville St. Residence 38 Leinster Rd, Rathmines,Dublin (doubled checked it is John not James, but could be Robert's father?

1881 UK Cenus:
Robert Wall age 18, born Dublin
Living at 39 Union Street, at Victular(drink) William Bough
he is a postman, Marlebone Civil Parish, All Souls
other residents are Bar Man, Frank godden age 21 Bar Inn Hotel

Annette Code

Did not find him in earlier 1824 unless his ancestor was
a Glove manufacturer and dealer 62 Henry St. Dublin,
also a breeches maker 26 Dawson St.

(James Alexander The solicitor, Judge, Queens Council, etc.
consistently from 1824-1894)

There were over 100 O'Brien's in business in 1870 Dublin.
Do you have Maria's fathers first name?
