Hi, that's interesting. Would they include Peter Murphy (c.1814, a Cooper), m. Ann Mahoney (c.1814)? These seemed to have arrived here in London between 1836 and 1838 and show up in the 1841 & 1851 censuses in Southwark & Bermondsey, with 5 children born here. No more UK records turned up.

Then I found entries in the NYC 1870 census, matching Peter & Ann exactly (didn't find anything for their children, though).

At first I imagined Peter to be my ancestor but was completely mistaken. The only common factors are his being a Cooper, and living in the Southwark area like my Cooper Murphy ancestors.

Peter must have been very closely related to the Timothy Murphy who was recorded as being present at the 1838 death of Peter's eldest son Peter (age 1, place 28 Helier Street, cause Teething). Timothy's address was 5 Magdalen Court and I'd love to pin down his relationship.

The 1841 census has a Labourer Timothy Murphy age 35 at 19 Magdalen Court (no other obvious family there), besides several more Timothys in the wider St Olave.

For interest, Magdalen Court was also home to Cooper Owen Murphy and his widowed mother Mary in 1861.

Also Cooper William Murphy (c.1837, m. Elizabeth Kirby) lived in Magdalen Street in 1871. Both of these have a strong geographical connection (apart from the Cooper aspect) with my ancestors, but the links are not clear.

Here's hoping you might have more to add.
