Now if you said the name was John, James, Patrick, Thomas
then perhaps the name would be common.

I found only 2 references to Kenward born in Ireland and both where in UK 1871 census.
Jane T. Kenward age 33 Hailsham, Surrey
Gertrude Kenward age 13, Brighton Sussex

This includes the Griffith Valuation (census substitute)
1846-1864 for all Irish Counties.

Also the Tithe Applotments (1820-1839)
No results for any county

There are huge gaps in Irish genealogy as you can see by the two census substitutes.

A passenger record for a James Kenward age 21 labourer on 17 April, 1890 Queenstown Cork to New York, then under comments
Deleted. I assume this means he booked a ticket and either changed his mind or missed the boat?

The surname also appears in each of the Thom's Almanacs from 1860-1880 Dublin. There maybe some spelling variations. Will need to find a source as my 'viewer' is not working at the moment. It is for sale by googling and ib various pay for membership 'programs' (that I can't mention).

1901/1911 Census.
Success at last:

479.5 Portobellow Barracks, Rathmines Dublin. Solldiers Barracks and families (65)

Spencer Kenward age 20 Carman, Church of England, can read and write. Birth place England.

He is NOT in the 1911 Census.
