The info you sent me was correct (marriages, will) and I think H. E. McQUARRIE m. ROSIER, finished up in Bristol, but can't afford all the certificates for the moment!
Alexander Fisher McQUARRIE, of the Black Watch, seconded to the Monmouthshire Militia in 1863 after serving overseas, married with children. After 1st wife Sarah died, he married Emily WATERMAN 13 July 1895 (reputed to have been a nanny in the Duke of Fife's household); they seem to have then become the caretaker's of the ANNESLEY's estate in Castlewellan. After Alexander's death Emily returned to London, UK, where she died in 1841 age 85.
I couldn't find any ROSIER children, but perhaps one day a McQUARRIE descendant will contact me, and I could pass on the book.http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cmtilbury/...
Thank you for all your help.
