LAWRENCEVILLE -- Walter Voronin, 84, died Saturday at home.
Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, Mr. Voronin came to the U.S. in 1950 and was a Trenton and Lawrenceville resident since then. He retired in 1981 after 31 years of service as an independent carpenter with several area local contractors. He was an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast.
Son of the late John and Sofia Azefeva Voronin; brother of the late Peter and Sergei Voronin. He is survived by his wife Lydia Post Voronin of Lawrenceville; his two sons and one daughter-in-law, Sergei Voronin of Lawrenceville, Erick and Jeanne Voronin of Doylestown, PA; his daughter and son-in-law, Lena and Terry Rizzo of Lawrenceville; two grandchildren, Trina and her husband Louis Martelli of West Berlin, NJ, Drew Rizzo of Lawrenceville; his sister, Nadia Voronin of St. Petersburg, Russia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Monday at the Winowicz Funeral Chapel, 865 Brunswick Ave. with Rev. Martin Kraus, Pastor St. Vladimir's Orthodox Catholic Church officiating.
Interment will be private for the family.
Calling hours will be 5-6 p.m. (time of service) Monday at the funeral chapel.
