I am not technically-enabled to offer a suggestion that specifically addresses your request. However, I would appreciate your fielding my input regarding the ways in which Ancestry.com enables/facilitates the submission of uncited information, that is sure, then, to be perpetuated ad-infinitum, never to be reined in again. We have probably all participated in these travesties because of the lack of structured ways offered by Ancestry.com to conveniently/easily cite the many bits of data one might provide in their own submitted works. The sites are nothing but vulnerable from the get-go!

Many users are not knowledgeable as to the proper, academic, ways to cite sources, or the actual legal obligation to obtain copyright permissions. So, we are left with "an open bar," and users must realize that their own material is, indeed, vulnerable. That said, if one is aware of and agreeable to these conditions, helpful hints may be gleaned that CAN BE RESEARCHED before accepting them as facts, that could actually result in breaking through "brick walls" one has suffered.

As to giving credits, I heartily support the suggestion to replace "Add to your files" with an in-your-face "Link to This" feature.
