I continue to search for Cassandra's family and their history. Capt. Daniel PARKINS, b 1758, came fr Winchester, VA, as a young man with a brother/s. Capt. Daniel has a fine history in the History of Newberry District. He was a Quaker but seemed to not be a practicing one at times, as he was at odds with the Friends. He md. Jane Carradine, and had a umber of sons. In abt 1802, an epidemic took a son, later that week, another son, & his wife. He died the next day. All were buried in the Parkins Cemetery, 7 mi SW of Newberry (where is this location?)
Just before dying, Capt. Daniel Parkins sent a legacy to his nephew, Daniel Parkins. None of his own sons were married, but a Parkins md. Mary Peterson, dau of Thomas & Abigail Richardson Peterson. The children Cassandra, Elizabeth, Milton, and Sutley are named as heirs in Thos' will. I find further that Daniel & Mary, the parents, died 1815. Cassandra & husband took in her brother Milton's children and raised them after the CivilWar. They had moved toPickens County in the 1820-1830s.
