My Grandmother always told us in meant 'of gold'. My Grandfather (Joseph) came from Pietrabbondante, along with his brother Antonio, both tailors, @1912? I have the ship passage papers somewhere. They settled in Cleveland Ohio area my Grandfather settling in Canton Ohio. Married Mary Moribito, who came over from Galina, Italy after the earthquake destroyed their town (1906?) Mary was Joseph's second wife, his first wife died after having two sons with him and then five children with Mary. The original spelling was DiIoriobut was changed after coming thru immigration (Ellis).
