CRUTCHFIELD June 11, 1844 in Harrison Co., Indiana, son of LUCY. He was born 1797 in North Carolina, and died 1870 in Marion County, IL.
Notes for MALINDA MULVANY:
I have Malinda as being born in 1912 and also some notes saying 1917
The first found of Malinda is in the 1830 Blount County, Tn., Census living in the household of Christopher Columbus Mulvany. She was listed in the females (10-15) age group. There were 2 in this group and the other is CeCelia who was born ca. 1819.
In the 1840 Blount County, Tn Census, she is married to John Henson and there were no children listed. They were listed in the age group 20 - 30.
It is not known when John and Malinda moved to Harrison County, Indiana, but their only child, William, was born there,
It is not known if or when John Henson remarried, but Malinda married John Crutchfield in 1844
(These notes I don't understand because when Malinda married John Crutchfield, she was listed as a widow)
They (Malinda & John Crutchfield) are listed in the 1850 Harrison County, Indiana census with 4 of John's children and her son William.
See later notes on William Henson and his family
John and Malinda were in the 1860 Marion County, IL census with two of their children, Samuel and Malinda A. The name of the household was spelled Critchfield as it had been spelled in the Indiana census. John, "crippled John" was still in the household. In the 1870 Marion County, IL census, (Oskaloosa, IL) another name had been added Andrew Jefferson Crutchfeld.
John and Malinda are buried in the far SE corner of Phillips Cemetery. (I have pictures of their stone)
