HAMILTON -- William Wasilyew, 75, died Thursday at Thomas Jefferson Medical Center, Philadelphia.

Born in Russia, he came to the United States in 1949 and lived in Trenton and Hamilton.

He retired in 1991 after seven years with Congoleum Corp. and had worked many years with DeLaval Turbomachinery Co., both in Hamilton.

An Army veteran, he served with the 106th Heavy Ordnance Mortar Co. during the Korean War.

Mr. Wasilyew was a member of American Legion Post 1000 and the men's club of St. Vladimir's Orthodox Catholic Church, Trenton. He supported the Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed fishing.

Son of the late Stefan and Eudokia Wasilyew and brother of the late Nancy W. Bucharew, he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lubow Sakowicz Wasilyew; a son, George of Hamilton; two nephews, Walter Panew and Victor J. Bucharew; and a niece, Anna Malynowski.

Funeral will be 8:30 a.m. Monday from Winowicz Funeral Home, Adeline and Beatty streets, Trenton.

Service will be 9:30 a.m. at St. Vladimir's Orthodox Catholic Church, with the Rev. Paul Shafran officiating.

Burial will be in St. Vladimir's Cemetery, Hamilton.

Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with Panachida service 6 p.m.
