Following DNA test I have a substantial number of good/high US matches, shared with a close English cousin, which I have narrowed down as emanating from this couple. The puzzle is that I am English and have not found a single direct ancestor born outside of England in 40 years plus of researching. My DNA bears this out - 95 per cent English/NW European. My question is, is there anyone out there who has found anything which casts light on John and Letitia's English ancestry? In my opinion the DNA match levels are too high for it to be the earliest colonial settlers. I think we're looking at mid to late 1700s. The answer to the puzzle on this side of the pond lies somewhere in East Anglia - Suffolk/Essex/Norfolk. With thanks. Anne
