Sherwood; Harry A. DEARMAN, 68, died Jan. 22, 1995, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Battle Creek.

He was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Hattesburg, Miss., a son of Eugene and Amanda E. (MORRIS) DEARMAN.

On Oct. 8, 1951, he married Mettie PRICE, in Akines, S.C.

He was raised in Mobile, Ala., where he also lived during the winter months after moving to Michigan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II being stationed in the Philippines. He was a member of the Athens Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5319 and 46 year member of the Ironworkers ???340.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Fred DEARMAN, Sherwood, Chuck DEARMAN, Jackson, Harry DEARMAN Jr., Bronson and Bobby DEARMAN, Lisaie; three daughters, Judy MURPHY, Bronson, Faith WEBB, Quincy, and Martha DEARMAN, Utah; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nona Ruth DOYLE, California, Martha Amanda DEARMAN and Mary (Pat) Elizabeth LAMBERT, both of Alabama; cousins and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas DEARMAN; one sister, Agatha HURD; and one brother, John DEARMAN.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today and Wednesday at the Spencer Funeral Home, Athens, where services are at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Ronald Jaeck, Bronson First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in North Sherwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Athens VFW Post 5319.
