York is a county in Virginia. It was formed in 1634 (as Charles River; renamed 1642/43) from the following county/ies: Charles River. York began keeping birth records in 1854, marriage records in 1772, and death records in 1853. It began keeping land records in 1633, probate records in 1633, and court records in 1633.
