Yancey is a county in North Carolina. It was formed in 1833 from the following county/ies: Buncombe/Burke. Yancey began keeping birth records in 1913, marriage records in 1851, and death records in 1913. It began keeping land records in 1831, probate records in 1838, and court records in 1834.
