Military Register
Military Register
Choose the "Military Register" form type when the image contains names to key. Some images will have place locations named after people. If an image only contains place locations named after people it should not be keyed and marked as "Cover page, Section header, etc."
Surname
Key the surname as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you. Some images contain place locations named after people. We are not keying these place locations.

Key the day from the military date. Military dates include, but are not limited to, enlistment dates, service dates, dates of rank, and retirement dates. When multiple dates appear for an individual key from the latest date.If the date appears in a header and applies to a list of individuals beneath it, key this year to all records to whom it applies.
