Project Instructions This collection contains Military Registers of various military branches published between the years 1902 and 1985.

These registers contain a wealth of information and the type of records within these registers is varied. From the records we are keying the name of the individual, their birth date and place if available, and a military date.

If the page is in columns, key down the columns from left to right of the page. If the page is in sections, key names in the first section in the same manner before proceeding to the next section.

Images containing only place locations named after people should be marked as "Cover page, Section header, etc."

Birth dates and places will often appear after the abbreviations "b." or "bo."

This military date may be, but not limited to, enlistment dates, service dates, dates of rank, and retirement dates. When multiple military dates appear for an individual key the latest date. When there is a list of names without dates, use the date from the header. If there isn't a date in the header, leave the date fields empty.

Years will appear in either 2 digit or 4 digit format. Years should be keyed as seen and 2 digit years should not be expanded.

Do not key any ranks for this project.
