Project Instructions
This collection contains an album published by the F.B.I. of criminals for the use of members of the National Bureau of Criminal Identification.

Images containing a photograph, name, and criminal history of an individual should be classified as the "Criminal Record" form type. From these images we are keying the primary name, any alias names, the record date, city and state, and age of the criminal.

The primary name will appear in bold at beginning of the entry. Alias names will appear either after the primary name after the word "alias" or in the record portion of the image after the word "As" or "Under name of" followed by a name. Key alias names in the order they appear. Key the entire alias name, even when part of the alias name may be the same as a different alias name. If an alias name appears once as "George Waddell" and in a different place as "Geo. Waddell", only key this alias name once from the fullest form.

The record date is the first date listed in the record section. The record city and state are the city and state listed in correspondence with the first listed date. If no city or state is listed with the first date, then the city and state fields should be left blank.

Images containing only names, aliases and page numbers should be classified as the "Index" form type.
