Project Instructions This collection contains registers from the Queen's Royal West Surrey and East Surrey Regiments.

The Queen's Royal West Surrey Regiment contains Enlistment Registers and WWII Honors Indexes.

The East Surrey Regiment contains Enlistment Registers, Transfers In Registers, and Nominal Rolls of Officers.

Registers will often include name, army number, and dates concerning service. Some registers will also include names of family members, rank, birth place, and occupation.

Key the regiment number as seen on the record from the "Army No." column.

Suffix

Key all titles, such as "Jr" or "III", following the surname as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you.

Surname

Key the surname as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you.

Given

Key the first name or initial and any middle names as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you. Initials should be keyed with a space between them and without entering the periods.

Prefix

Key any titles before the given name, such as "Dr," "Mr," or "Mrs," as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you.

Event Day

Key the day from the event date. Dates will typically be in [Day-Month-Year] format.

Event Month

Key the month in its three-letter abbreviation from the event month using the dictionary provided to assist you. Dates will typically be in [Day-Month-Year] format.

Event Year

Key the year from the event date. Dates will typically be in [Day-Month-Year] format. The expected year ranges for this project is 1892-1947. Two digit years should be expanded accordingly.

Event Place

Key the event place as seen on the record using the dictionary provided to assist you. Geographical location should be separated with a comma, such as "London, England".

Age

Key the age at the time of the event.
