Marriage

We are using one form type, Marriage, to capture all marriage records regardless of the format of the records on the image.  Please be aware that multiple marriage records are often found on a single image.
If it appears to be an index (a list of alphabetical names with page numbers in columns) please select the "Image with No data" form type.

General Keying notes:

Key all entries. Even marriages that were not solemnized. There will be no marriage date for marriages that were not formalized.
Do NOT use commas, periods or semicolons anywhere in this set. However, apostrophes and hyphens are to be keyed as written.
Do not expand any abbreviations or substitute postal codes for the state names.
If the record says N. Y. (with a space in between) key it as N Y, but if it is N.Y. (with no space) key it as NY.
Key the complete location as written, not just the state or city.
Key the most complete version of a name.
L-N-U (Last Name Unknown) and its complement (F-N-U) are to be omitted.
The abbreviation "do" means ditto, when you see this, copy the information from the line immediately above.
When the marriage record is amended to show corrected information, key the corrected version. This is much the same as a cross-out and replace.
Use "Blank" (Ctrl-B) ONLY when the field is red and requires an answer. Do not use "Blank" when the field is white.
