Washington is a county in Maine. It was formed in 1789 from the following county/ies: Lincoln. Washington began keeping marriage records in 1827–90 now located at the Maine State Archives. It began keeping land records in 1783, and probate records in 1783. For more information, contact the county at Court St./P.O. Box 297 Machias 04654.
