Ventura is a county in California. It was formed in 1872 from the following county/ies: San Luis Obispo/Santa Barbara. Ventura began keeping birth records in 1873 , marriage records in 1873, and death records in 1872. It began keeping land records in 1871*, probate records in 1873, and court records in 1873. For more information, contact the county at 800 S Victoria Ave, Ventura 93009. On the attached map, Ventura is located at J4 . *Alcalde records from 1782; county land records begin 1871. Land was later added from Los Angeles County in 1881.
