The United Empire Loyalist Association of Canada is dedicated to preserving the history of those who fought for the Crown during the American Revolution. Only the veterans themselves can use the designation UEL after their signature. Proven descendants can use the designation UE after their signature. Loyalist groups settled primarily in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Upper Canada. For an in depth and fascinating repository of Loyalist information, Todd Braisted's Online Institute for Loyalist Studies is amazing.
