I am finding lots of errors of the spelling Stablack.  This is referring to one of the camps.  M 1a Stablack.  It may look like the letter "d" but it is not Stablad as many are keying.  All Arbitrators, please watch for both keyers using a "d" because if both keyers use it, it will not flag to be arbitrated.  Please be sure to correct it.

Registration Card Remarks:

The bottom half of the registraion card usually has coding like 1+1 ect. . As all letters were censered, this code was used for letters the POW wrote or  received. If there is no furhter information key  "No".  Sometimes it gives info about parcels received with a senders name and address , and other information, key "Yes".

Questions and Answers

If you have a keying question that is not answered on the project page or in any of the information above, click “EDIT” and ask it here. (If you click on Rich Editor you won't have to worry about formatting your entry.) Then click “WATCH” at the top right on this page and you will be notified via email when an update has been made.

Q: What do I do when I have a form type that isn't in the list of options, but does seem to have informationon it?

A: If cou come across a form called"Wehrdienstbeschädigungsliste" use the multiple form choice and extract all the information you can. This is a 4 page form. If you are not sure, cancel it "with problems" and say unknown form. Paul will get it and deal with it.

Q: I'm having trouble reading the 'Rank' or 'Dienstgrad' on a 'Personal Card 2' form. What are some common ranks? Perhaps I could recognize it if there were options. (None are given when I begin typing as there are with other fields.) Thank you.

A: The most common rank (Dienstgrad) is Schütze, Uffz, Unteroffizier. Many keyers wrongly use Periods (Full Stops) for abr., especially when it comes to Truppenteil. Example if it says 53. Inf. Regt. keyers should key 53 Inf Regt. Sometimes the I is mistaken for a J or an F.
