When this project first became available, prefix entries such as "Miss," "Private," "Sergeant," etc. were not available and thus came up as errors on either entry or upon review.  I know see that those prefixes, as well as others, have been added as available, but no updates were announced.  So, now when reviewers are adding those prefixes to records entered before any knowledge that the new prefixes are available, those entries are showing up as corrections and, thus, contributors are probably receiving poorer accuracy ratings.  Is something being done to correct this situation?

:A: They could still be keyed before they were added to the menu; keyers would just have had to press F7 to accept them. --[[User:Katerimmer|Katerimmer]] ([[User talk:Katerimmer|talk]]) 02:03, 2 March 2016 (MST)

Feel free to add to or edit information in this discussion tab as necessary. Please take time to become familiar with the General Keying Standards and be sure to read all instructions on the main project page. (Please note that in case of a discrepancy, project level instructions always trump general keying standards.)

Extra Keying Helps

1. Often names are followed by the age in parentheses, eg JOHN SMITH (16), particularly for young offenders.

That is true, but there was a specific question asked, when the project first became available, about the fact that those prefixes were not available, and the response was that they were not to be keyed.

Suggestions/Additions

If you have a suggestion or would like to make an addition to the project page, click “EDIT” and post your suggestion here. (If you click on Rich Editor you won't have to worry about formatting your entry.) Then click “WATCH” at the top right on this page and you will be notified via email when an update has been made.

The phrase "as seen" should be removed from the instructions for keying Age to avoid confusion, as the age sometimes has to be converted to the required format. --Katerimmer (talk) 04:36, 19 February 2016 (MST)

A: The field has been updated. Thank you. Seanbmc (talk) 10:24, 19 February 2016 (MST)
