Extra Keying Helps
Common Keying Errors Found by Reviewers
Keyers are not keying surnames as part of the title. If it says Smith Family, key Smith Family. If it says Hull Lineage, key Hull Lineage. Most keyers are only keying the surname, not the entire line. Read the project help screens.

Q - I have an image that appears to have no surname and no title... its just a list of nooks. The three-line card reads "Col.& Rev.Fam.of Pa.Vol.5.p.861/Col.& Rev.Fam.of Pa.vol.8. p. 343/Col. & Rev. Lin. of Amer. vol. 6 p. 495." Would this be considered an image with no data? Do I key the first book as the Tile? Or what?
A - More than likely that is a continuation from another card. I would mark it as a cover page.
Q - I have come across cards with simply a surname at the top such as "Ammon". I know I key this into the surname field but what goes into the title field? I'm confused as the instructions say not to key a title if there is just a name but the examples show a card with a name and the title field filled in. Please clarify this. Thanks.
Q - I have a set of images showing the titles as: 'Fox Graveyard' or 'Fisher Graveyard' and also names of churches. There are no person names to key so should I do these as cover pages or key titles as seen?
A - I would key these as Titles
Q - The instructions say that the prefix and given boxes should contain the same info ie: first name or initial and middle names. I have not included names in the prefix box, is this correct? I assume it is only for ranks etc.
A - I believe this is an error in the instructions
Q- About the first question above when I had images that said 'Bairns Graveyard' or 'Bains Graveyard' I keyed Bairns as the surname and Bairns Graveyard as the title. The instructions say if it has a surmane and any other words then key the surname in the surname field and all the text in the title field. Have I been doing these wrong? On my keying summary it shows my accuracy is Excellent.
A: The instructions state, The only time a Title wouldn't be considered a Title is if there is only a Given and/or a Surname provided. To me, this means that anything other than that would be keyed as a title.
Followup question to answer - The keyed sample images do not support that. The one image shows only a surname and a given name and yet it is keyed as surname, given name, and title. Can we please get a definitive answer for both keyers and reviewers to use.

I think the image sets could be more than 10 images.
