Extra Keying Helps
Common Keying Errors Found by Reviewers
Do not use the "accept key" to accept entries while keying. Only use when entry is not in field's dictionary.--Billlinda155 05:18, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Q: Are we to key street names or other data such as 'no home' in the 'From Whence Admitted' field if this is the only data provided?
- A: No - the intended entries in this field would be the Parish the individual was admitted from. Annafechter 07:27, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
Q: Does 'Admission Age' include the age on discharge? I have interpreted the instructions "Key the age as seen at the time the record was recorded." to refer to admission age.
- A: Many times the admission and discharge are a day apart - I have not personally keyed a record that had an Admission Age column, rather it is typically an "Age" column. Use your best judgment in determining whether the age was at the time of the record or not. Annafechter 07:27, 21 March 2015 (UTC)
Q: I had a list of deaths, which I keyed as Discharges since there was no other appropriate place. Is this correct?
- A: The instructions for this project say 'Only key records relating to admission and discharge. If you see any images relating to school records, registers of births or deaths, registers of inmates, etc. mark them as "Cover page, Section header, etc."' --Katerimmer 22:50, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Q:I have a list that says Creed register at the top but gives admission dates and names and where admitted from. Is this a cover page also.
