Feel free to add to or edit information in this discussion tab as necessary. Please take time to become familiar with the General Keying Standards and be sure to read all instructions on the main project page. (Please note that in case of a discrepancy, project level instructions always trump general keying standards.)
Extra Keying Helps
ob = death / died
aetat = age, so if it says something like "ob 1635 aetat 80" this would mean he died in 1635, age at death 80. --Katerimmer 18:00, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
Common Keying Errors Found by Reviewers
Individuals with single names should be keyed in Given Name, not Surname, field.
Individuals with one name ' or ' another name, key the 2nd name in the Alias field.

Q. Should he initials after the name be entered, i.e. S.T.D., S.T.B, D.D.?
Q. Not really sure where to post this, but when it says something like "James Pitcairn, 20th July 1759, vice Robert Gilbert resigned", this does not mean that Robert Gilbert "served in a vice position", it means that James Pitcairn was appointed to replace Robert Gilbert. I am assuming that the instruction about not keying the names of people who "served in vice positions" does mean not to key these "vice" names. --Katerimmer 17:55, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
