Stark is a county in Illinois. It was formed in 1839 from the following counties: Knox/Putnam. Stark began keeping birth records in 1877, marriage records in 1839, and death records in 1877. Stark County was named after General Colonel John Stark who served in the American Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.
