I came to know from my elders that the British government ruling India early 1900s have awarded a title SHRI to be added with our surname BATCHU as an appreciation to the sincerity we maintained.

It seems a package of golden bars were found with a consignment of goods received by ship as they doing imports business in those days. The unassigned goods, the gold, was promptly returned to the rulers through the local administration.

I would like to know how to pick up the tags and trace out the official records.Can anybody help.
